Well, it's really getting close now. We're into the final four weeks until Paisley Kate Slatton is born.
We've been looking back at a lot of old photos from when Maddie was born 13 years ago. My gosh do we look a lot younger. And we were. I was still in my 20s (about to turn 30). Now I'm in my 40s.
It's hard to remember what it was like back then. I know we were very excited and very overprepared. I had read What to Expect When You're Expecting and was up on everything.
I guess this time is very similar. I've read all the information. We're once again very excited. And it seems like we're overprepared in the amount of stuff we've acquired. But it's been a long time since either of us took care of an infant.
My children are very excited as well. It's so funny to watch Anna Kate when she tries to talk to the baby. She thinks Libby's belly button is a microphone and talks right into it. I remember when Maddie was born that she knew my voice in the first minutes of her life. I would be willing to bet Paisley will know Anna Kate's voice.
We ordered bottles last night. That seems to be the final piece of missing baby equipment. and now we wait. Officially 33 days to go. But when we took birth date suggestions at Thanksgiving, no one was willing to go past Christmas Day.
I chose December 24. I figure that would be the most inconvenient day possible. And it will still be awesome.
