Attempting my first applique sewing project this weekend

OK. So I'm going to try something really interesting today.

Applique. Yes, sewing. Yes, clothes.

Hopefully it will turn out
something like this.
I'm going to attempt to make Paisley a Valentine's Day shirt. Basically, it's going to be a pink onezie with a black and white chevron heart on the front. It doesn't sound too difficult. But I'll reserve judgement until I get into the middle of it.

I'm not a great sewer. But I can thread the machine and get it going. Occasionally this is a very useful skill to have. I've fixed numerous things over the years. But this is a little different.

If I prove I can do this, we could actually do some pretty neat designs. My wife has a Cricket cutting machine that will cut out all sorts of designs and shapes. We'll put the chevron fabric onto the backing and iron it. Then we'll cut out the heart using the Cricket. We'll iron the design onto the shirt and then I'll sew around it using the sewing machine.

Piece of cake. Hopefully.
