Halloween worked out pretty much perfect

Sometimes I kind of feel sorry for my kids. I just don't think Halloween is nearly as good as it was when I was a kid. I guess they don't really care. They don't know any better.

But last night turned out pretty great. We started out at the Malvern Downtown trick-or-treating event. Last year, we got in line late and had to wait forever to get through it. It seemed like we were there for hours. This year, I told my wife to take Anna Kate to get in line early and that I would catch up with them when I got off work. They did and breezed through the line.

Then we headed over to The Crossings senior center. They have their residents sit outside their room doors and give out candy to trick-or-treaters. It was really nice and worked out very well.

We followed that up with a quick lap around Southgate. The weather was perfect and it worked out really well. The only issue is that only about 1 in every 15 houses was giving out candy. I don't blame those folks though. Most of the people trick-or-treating had no ties whatsoever to the neighbourhood.

Then we headed home. Perfect Halloween. Only thing that would have made it better would be if the Cards had forced a Game 7. Maybe next year.
