I must say. I'm pretty nervous right now.
Since I decided to attempt to run my first 5k a couple of months ago, I've not been all that nervous about doing it. Sure, I've been a bit anxious about the time jumps in the training plan. But not queazy, stomach turning kind of nervous. That's where I am right now.
Since the Spa 5k is on Saturday, I decided to take a drive over the race course to see what I'm up against. It's all uphill. Oh my gosh. Like really uphill. I might be in trouble.
Here's one good thing: It's only uphill for the first half. Then it's mostly downhill on the way to the finish line.
I want to pace myself to ensure I'm going to finish. But I hope I have some gas in the tank when I reach the halfway point.
I wasn't going to run tonight but I changed my mind. I'm not going to run 5k but I think I'll try to run about 2.5 miles tonight. And yes, I'm definitely going to run up and down some hills. Some big ones.
I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.
