Two weeks to go until 5K and I'm up to 30 minutes

On Sunday, I made my first 30-minute run. And it was much harder than Wednesday's 26-minute run. But I made it and am still on pace to run the Spa 5K in less than two weeks in Hot Springs.

I ran Sunday morning and didn't feel great at the start. I know, that's starting to become a real theme isn't it? I did about four minutes of walking for  a warmup, set my timers and took off.

The first five minutes was a breeze. Then I hit a wall. It felt like I could hardly pick my feet up. I was running on a one-mile loop and was really struggling. As I neared the one-mile mark, I felt like I couldn't go on. And I could feel my brain trying to convince my body to quit. I think if I was a little closer to finish, I might have quit. But I pressed on.

The second mile wasn't great but I kept going. And when I reached the end of that lap I wasn't sure I could go on much longer. I kept going until I finished my 30 minutes and then walked a bit to cool down.

I'm really excited to have made the whole 30 minutes. My time wasn't great but it still looks like I can probably run the 5K in 45 minutes or so. I'll take it.

We step up again this week. On Wednesday, I'll push it to 36 minutes and up over 40 next weekend. I'm more and more confident I can do this.
