6.5 hours of consecutive sleep, yes please

The baby has slept through the night three nights in a row -- knock on wood.

No, it hasn't been a full eight hours but it has been really nice. Three nights ago, we put the baby to sleep around 11:30 and she slept until 6 a.m. Two nights ago, we put her to sleep around 11 and she slept until about 5:15 a.m. And last night, we put her to sleep around 10 p.m. and she slept until 4:45 a.m. That's 6.5 hours, 6.25 hours and 6.75 hours. Or it's an average of 6.5 hours per night. And that's incredible.

Doing a little research on the Internet (my doctor hates when I do that), I found that most babies are capable of sleeping between 8 and 12 hours at between 4 and 6 months. Some can sleep for long stretches beginning at 6 weeks. Our baby turns 2 months old today. So it sounds like we're trending in the right direction.

And with my wife headed back to work next week, 6.5 hours of consecutive sleep -- for me -- is very nice.
