Baseball and bedtime don't always line up

Being a parent and a fanatical sports fan isn't always easy. Take last night for example.

Kids just went to bed and I'm watching the Cardinals clinging to a 3-2 lead over the Dodgers. Sugar Shane Robinson steps to the plate and jacks a home run that bounces off the top of the outfield wall. 4-2 Cardinals.

"YYYYYeeeeeeeeeessssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!," I screamed.

My wife went off, telling me to calm down. She's right, but I couldn't help it. It happened a couple of weeks ago too. Then Michael Wacha was one out from a no hitter. When he allowed the infield single with two outs in the ninth inning, I screamed. Maybe I just have issues.

But it's all good. The kids didn't wake up and I managed to muzzle myself the rest of the game.

The other highlight of the night was my dad texting me to tell me he could outrun David Freese to first base. I think it would be close.

Go Cards!!!!!
