This week we chose a baby name. Unbelievably there is almost no resistance to it.
Paisley Kate Slatton.
I'm amazed at how it came about. Since the beginning, Reece has been the leader. Molly got in the mix and was a strong contender. But everything else just seemed wrong.
My wife prefers odd names. I prefer that the name actually be a name. No, Ireland is not a name.
So, on Friday my wife tells me we've got to pin this thing down. I get out my phone and start looking over the baby name lists. I read off about 300 names before I finally said, "Paisley."
My wife stopped in her tracks. "I love that," she said.
I wasn't sure if I did. My wife ran it across Facebook and received positive response. She told my mother about it. My mother told me she liked it a lot. So I called my mother to ask her if she really liked it or was just being nice. She really liked it.
A few more positive responses and we locked it in.
It's funny because Paisley wasn't even under consideration on Friday afternoon. By Sunday morning, it was set in stone.
Can't wait to meet Paisley in late December or very early January.
